Created in 2005, Cook Nature Preserve includes acreage along the wild and scenic Wekiva River in Seminole County, Central Florida. The preserve is home to a wide variety of animal species, including black bear, bobcat, deer, raccoon, opossum, rabbit, barred owl, red-shouldered hawk, and a wide variety of bird species. The Wekiva River ecosystem is home to majestic gray herons, osprey, river otter, alligator, and numerous fish and snake species.
